At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024, Lamborghini revealed the Telemetry X concept, a next-generation driver coach that will feature in future models and make you a faster driver on track. If you’ve ever been fortunate enough to see track analytics on a track day and be able to compare lap data on something like Circuit Tools, you’ll understand how vital track analysis can be. However, accessing such tools usually means pulling into the pits to check out all the data.
Telemetry X comprises three main parts: the Real Time Remote Garage, Biometric Data System, and the Digital Co-Pilot.
The Real Time Remote Garage uses the car’s connected capabilities – present in the new Lamborghini Revuelto – and operates via the inbuilt 5G connection, uploading real-time video recordings of their track session along with telemetry to the cloud. From there, a driving coach can remotely monitor your driving and provide driving suggestions.
The Biometric Data System adds another layer to this, tapping into user biometrics to read your heart rate and stress levels for advanced performance coaching. If it detects your heart rate rising too much for a prolonged period of time during high-G-force driving, the car can recommend you work on your personal fitness, etc. It can also identify potential medical emergencies before they arise.
Lastly, Telemetry X negates the need to pit to check out your telemetry by giving you feedback while you drive, using a Digital Co-Pilot to provide voice guidance. Examples of the information the Digital Co-Pilot can provide include deltas on your lap times and feedback on brake temperatures. It can even provide feedback on driving lines and braking points.
